Beyond the painted surface, Livia creates places for encounter: projected images, walking labyrinths and participatory environments shaped by ecology, ritual and play.

Borders of Illusion

By day, a large canvas of mirrored forms offers a space for visitors to step into. By night, projection mapping animates the painting with light.

The installation extends the fold into time. A single surface holds two states, changing between daylight and projection.

Lizard Labyrinth
& Lizard Laboratory

At AfrikaBurn in the Tankwa Karoo, a 14-metre meditative walking labyrinth held two mirrored wooden lizards, each seven metres long. Their bodies became benches for rest.

As creative lead and organiser, Livia used the installation to draw attention to small endangered species of the Karoo and the impact of human footsteps. The project developed into Lizard Laboratory at Nowhere in Spain in 2025.

Vaginarium of Dreams

A walk-in temple of layered, flame-like arches. Livia contributed as a member of the build crew and as a facilitator, hosting women’s circles and creative sessions addressing gender-based violence.

Culture Over Concrete

An interactive public artwork at the A100 Wegbassen Demo. Livia’s participatory practice invites people to contribute through protest banners, collective drawing and thread webs of promises.

Her women’s circles and workshops use making as an opening for reflection and shared expression.
